Last week we asked the question if you supported the notion of allowing members to have their dogs accompany them on the golf course on a restricted basis.

Some have wondered why we would ask the question; the reason is the growing number of members that had been asking if this could be permitted at Mad River.

Ladies Day Trial: I am investigating the best timing to meet the needs of the majority of ladies that play on Tue. So for Aug. 6, 13, 20 Ladies Day will be held starting at 10 am for 18 holers and noon for nine holers with lunch, from the menu, following play. Unfortunately due to previous commitments of the tee on Tues morning, an earlier time or a shot gun were not an option at this time.

The next big event is the Club Championship Aug 10/11. There will be multiple flights playing off  various tees. This is a great opportunity to test your game and enjoy competing against your fellow members. There will  be a lunch and “Captain’s Bar” following the Sunday round.

In order to increase the playability and enjoyment of our great golf course we require the co-operation and participation of all our golfing members.

To that end we are initiating an “Adopt A Hole” program.

Putting accounts for 43% of your score in the game of golf.  Eliminating three putts is the simplest way to shoot lower scores.  This may seem crazy to some, but it may be better to stop thinking so hard about making your putts and focussing more on two putts per green.  Let me explain.

This year's event will once again include an invitational option.   Up to August 6th, 2019, members will be able to invite one guest.   If this event is not fully subscribed by that date, members will be offered the opportunity to invite more than one guest for this fun filled day.

Watch out for the Pink Door in the foyer.   Mad River invites all of its members to contribute raffle items to be auctioned off for this very worthy cause.   Suggestions would include items from our local businesses that would be purchased by our members and donated, items from our talented membership to be donated, services to be donated..... anything and everything would be appreciated.
