Under the new World System, each member will have seen a reduction in their course handicap.  This is primarilydue to the change in handicap calculations.  It is now the best 8 rounds out of 20 instead of 10.

Frenchie’s Reflections
The first time I played with the three Founders, Wil Matthews, Peter Barnard and Ray Richards was back in the early days of Mad River, probably mid ‘90’s.  We played a partners game and switched partners every 6 holes.  I really wanted to impress them and focused on playing my best golf.

After losing every match and paying out sleeves of Titleist balls to my opponents, Wil asked me what I shot… “Well, I had 7 birdies, no bogies, I guess I shot 65”.  Wil asked “How could you lose every match and shoot 65?”  “Well Wil, I guess I had very bad playing partners.”

Until next week…

The Collingwood General and Marine Hospital Challenge
Thank you Mad River!

Mad River Members have generously donated $14,425.00 to the CMGH Foundation.

Our member’s donation helped put the funds over the required amount to release the $50,000 matching grant! These funds will be used to purchase powered air-purifying respirators and additional forms of PPE and additional supplies the hospital needs to fight Covid-19.

Congratulations and thank you for and keeping our front-line caregivers safe during the pandemic.  Well done!
