F&B Closure Sat Sept 12

Food & Beverage will not be available to Members from 4:00 p.m. onwards as we will be preparing for Brian French's Retirement Party. If you are signed up to attend, the festivities are from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The washrooms will be available as well as the Pro Shop. Thank you!

Your Grounds Committee continues to work with staff and our course architect Doug Carrick to develop a long-range plan for Mad River. The committee recently toured the property to better understand the potential issues and to explore possible solutions.

My 1st visit to the MAD MILE
The very first time I played Mad River, I was 4 under par going into the “Mad Mile”.  I was in perfect position on the 15th hole for my 3rd shot.  The pin was on the left, I hit a Sand Wedge from 90 yards that hit just on the back edge of the green.  I turned around thinking I would have a good chance at a birdie, just as my ball was coming off the front of the green into the “valley of death” which was cut like fairway at that time.  A few shots later, I came away with a “9”.  Following that up with a double bogey on 16 and another double bogey on the 17th.  The start of stories for the archives of the “MAD MILE”.

Grounds Update September 10, 2020
 

Club Storage Expansion
In order to accommodate the back-shop expansion, we will be removing trees on both the east and west side of the existing club storage building.  We will be closing the golf course until 1030 on Wednesday September 16 in order to facilitate these removals, we will be using our overflow parking area for the Morning tee times, sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.  Construction of the club storage building is set to begin on or around the 1st of October, this gives us enough time to prepare the west side of the building in order for the construction to begin.
