Course Closure
It’s been an extraordinary summer with vast swings in weather patterns, from an extremely dry spring to significant enough moisture over the past six weeks that turf density in our rough has never been healthier (or more difficult to play from).
Once again huge thanks to Chad and his team for presenting the golf course so beautifully this summer. However, the end of the season is upon us and as you have no doubt noticed, work is already ongoing with a focus on preparing for this winter and spring 2022.
This includes the re-sodding on many collar areas, in our never-ending battle to slow Poa intrusion. Chad is also rebuilding the bunker face on the short-range bunker due to years of use and excess sand build up on the face that inhibits healthy turf growth.
The short-range tee deck will close on October 18
th and the main deck turf area on the 25
th. The irrigation system lines are scheduled for blow-out October 25/26 and our last day of golf will be Sunday October 31
st.

Hello Everyone This Tuesday was our last organized game for this season. 19 of us enjoyed a fun round of “Tombstone Golf” with only a few lucky enough to finish with tombstones still in hand. Thanks to the back shop for picking up the tombstones that were planted along the way, marking the spot where one reached the end of their handicap strokes.
First Place - Susan Quigley, finishing net -6
Second Place tie- Val Dyer & Carolyn Smith, net par
Fourth Place- Lesley Brightling, net +1
Fifth Place- Yvonne MacGowan, net +2
Thanks to all of you who supported the Ladies Tuesdays this season. Hope to see even more of you out next season!

A Note from your Food & Beverage Team
I would like to start this post with a huge THANK YOU to everyone for their contribution, patience and willingness to assist over the last half of the season. It has been challenging running with only one cook per day and only 1-2 servers in the front but the Mad River Team and Members have stepped up. Management jumped in to serve food, make drinks or simply clear tables and Members quickly adapted by ordering drinks at the bar and using the self-serve Cupp’s Corner. In recent weeks we have been fortunate enough to have staff from Devil’s Glen as well as previous Mad staff including Walker Kerr and Shasta Meek come and help when able. As the season is winding down, our menu is getting smaller. We will run food and drink specials for the remainder of the season. Revised menu is posted on Member central. Clubhouse hours will continue to run from 9-6 until the end of the month.
