On July 2nd our irrigation contractor will begin work on the installation of our new system. During the first two weeks of the project, the irrigation team will be installing mainlines which are generally on the periphery of holes, so disruption to golf will be minimal. Chad provides more detail in his article.

Members have asked me, why are we starting the project so early in the summer? It’s to ensure the work on #6, #12 and #17 will be completed by the middle of August. The mid-August date is critical so we have a six-week window for the seed to germinate and the turf to get established this year, which will allow us to open these holes earlier in 2026.

I would like to take this opportunity to give a huge shout out to the grounds team, they have been working tirelessly to prepare the golf course through the extremely compressed golf schedule.  Rob Wilson and Mike Oloane have provided great leadership through some challenging weather conditions, from a very cool spring to extreme heat in a short time frame, congratulations to the entire team!

Happy Canada Day!
Last week the Ladies played a new game called Chips Ahoy where each member of the team was given a coloured poker chip. What made the game so fun was the surprise at the end of each hole to see who matched the coloured chip in the hole. That person’s score counted for the team.  If you were having a stellar hole, there was a cry for “Please be my colour” and just the opposite when you were having a tough hole. Unfortunately for some teams, the cry wasn’t answered!

The reception of the Eggs Benedicts offered on Sundays has been very positive and widespread. I hope many of you have already come out to try my version of the classic Brunch item.
