Golf Operations Update

The third major of the season is this weekend as The Country Club, just outside of Boston, hosts the US Open. There have been numerous distractions leading up to the event because of the upstart LIV Golf Tour…League…not sure what to call it? The leaderboard after day one already has a lot of star power so it should make for a great weekend regardless of all the other headlines trying to overshadow the event.

Hello Everyone,

Fantastic turnout for the Ladies Member Member. Nice to see both new and familiar faces participating. Congratulations to Tony Bowland & Sheena MacAskill for winning the event with a net 68. Lucky them, they now share the honour of hosting the event next year!

Thank you to our convenors, Sharon DeLorenzi & Donna Wickham, for organizing such a fun day. The Pari-mutuel betting added a fun twist. I think we could all use a few tips on how to place a bet! Thank you as well to all those who played a part behind the scenes to make the day a huge success. Many hands make light work.

Gents, this event is next week June 22/23. We still have a room for two more teams. If you are single and would like to play, the Pro Shop will pair you up with another member that is also looking to play. There will be some changes to the event this year, that includes a different scoring method and a much more exciting playoff that will be visible to all that are sitting on the patio. The playoff should be fast and exciting.

What a beautiful day for the Ladies Member/Member this past Tuesday! The Greek theme idea Sharon Delorenzi and Donna Wickham requested was well received and enjoyed by all. Thank you, ladies, for organizing the event and bringing in the peonies-they were gorgeous. The F & B team really enjoyed preparing for the day and serving all of you.

A Note from Your Chef:

Hi Folks
Although we had to cancel our Friday Night Buffet, you can always come in and enjoy dinner and watch the sunset. The menu I created includes Steak Frites, Ahi Tuna, Grilled Tiger Shrimp, and a Vegetable Linguine. If you are not up to a full meal, why not share a couple of appetizers like the Creemore Shrimp, Duck Wings and the Cheese Dip? Once we have Canada Day 9 & Dine complete, I will start to add dinner specials on the weekends. Looking forward to serving you while you dine and socialize.

The Club is full at 350 families and has a significant Wait List – 132!

In order for someone on the waiting list to become a member, an existing member must offer their membership for sale.

To date six memberships have sold since February 2022. Recently memberships have traded at $60,000 which is comprised of the entrance fee and the sale price.
