If you have watched any TV over the last week, you have likely seen several Black Friday commercials. It feels as though every retailer has decided to get a head start on this annual shopping event, which typically coincides with the US Thanksgiving. At Mad River, we are hosting our very own Black Friday sales event. This will take place on Friday, November 28th. The sale will run right through the weekend with the pro shop open Saturday, November 29th and Sunday, November 30th from 10am to 4pm. We will also have the indoor golf available on those days as well.

Titleist will be hosting another Fit Day on Friday, December 5th. This is a great opportunity for members that might be planning on travelling over the Christmas break or wishing to put something under the tree. Clubs that are ordered at this fitting event will arrive before the holiday break. Since it is the off season, we are taking another 5% off any orders at this event as well. Please call the shop to book a fitting appointment today.

Submitted by Colin Tyler, Men's Captain

As I write this post, it is hard to believe two years have already flown by, bringing my time as your Men’s Captain to a close. Stepping into this role was only possible because of the incredible foundation laid by my predecessor, Angelo Delorenzi. Ang truly drove engagement and participation to all-time highs and set the stage perfectly, making my job a joy rather than a challenge—thank you, Ang, for picking and believing in me.

I am also incredibly excited to see Dean Elliott step up as the next Captain. While my name gets attached to the posts and announcements during my tenure, Deano has been involved in every step of the planning, execution, and organization over the last two seasons. A huge amount of the credit for the success and momentum we've enjoyed should rightfully go to Deano, and I know the section is in the best possible hands moving forward.

Dear Members.

We are now fast approaching the Holiday season, and my best wishes to all for a safe and happy holiday.
I would like to take this time to remind you that all house accounts need to be settled for our November year end.

I would also like to make note of the schedule for the billing of the 2026 dues.
Oct 2025, the 1st installment for equity members, was billed and this is payable November end 2025.

Honoring the Team Behind the 2025 Spring Ice Storm Golf Course Clean-Up

At the staff closing party early November, we recognized all of the wonderful Mad River staff who helped with the golf course clean-up after the spring ice storm of 2025. What happened this season was unlike anything we’ve seen.

Staff from across departments stepped up with resilience, teamwork, and dedication that went far beyond ordinary expectations.

The Maintenance crew arrived before dawn, bundled in layers, wielding chainsaws, rakes, and whatever tools were needed to restore safety and order. Golf Pros, Clubhouse staff team members all joined the effort, cutting branches, hauling debris, clearing pathways, doing whatever was necessary. Their coordination turned an overwhelming task into a manageable mission.

Staff encouraged each other through long hours of work in the cold. Their shared goal, to bring the course back to life for opening day.

To every individual who contributed, whether by clearing brush, coordinating resources, or simply lending an encouraging word, your hard work did not go unnoticed. Your efforts kept the course safe, beautiful, and ready for the season that was ahead.

Thank you for showing what true teamwork looks like.

Friday, November 28th come by the Club to finish up your holiday shopping.
BIGGEST and BEST savings of the year!

Carrie Stinson and Michelle Meneley visited St. Luke’s Community Food Bank recently to present a cheque for $2,585. Representing the members who raised the funds during the Ladies Member Guest Day event. Pictured here with food bank manager Rev. Lorna May at St. Luke’s Anglican Church.

The contribution will help support the 52 families who currently depend on the food bank. “We always need peanut-free snacks, puddings, juice boxes, and Honey Nut Cheerios,” said May.

May added that pasta sauce, pet food, and personal hygiene products are always in high demand. With the holidays approaching, the food bank also welcomes cash donations and gift certificates from retailers such as Walmart, Winners, and Amazon.

Thank you Mad River!
