The Board and management were gratified with the response to the member survey conducted last year. The input received is being used by the various committees and task forces to inform their work on specific parts of our wonderful golf club. It is now time to prioritize and cost potential projects. As I have previously communicated to you in The Mad Post, we have convened a Long Range Planning Task Force (LRPTF) comprised of a broad cross-section of our membership to assist the Board in this planning exercise.

How to Improve Your Chip/Pitch Shots If You Flip the Club
(The Most Common Error)

Have you ever hit a thin chip shot?  Of course, you have.  You’re a golfer.  We all have.  The bladed chip shot is one that makes each of us cringe, scowl, and berate (ourselves).  Then you go for a lesson and are told to "lean left and keep the hands ahead”.  Seems like sound advice until you get out on the course and do it again.

The bladed chip shot is predominantly caused by release issues or “flipped hands”, whereby the lead hand (gloved hand) goes into flexion while the trail hand (lower hand) goes into extension.  Flexion would be like holding a waiter’s tray over your shoulder, whereby extension would be the opposite.

Can you believe that we are half way through the season!?! What a great season so far. We finally got to host our first event, the Divorce Open. Sunday's event had great weather, fantastic food(thank you to Otta, Dan and Georgie in the kitchen) and lots of fun was had. My team got to experience working an event and had fun doing so. It was so refreshing to see everyone relaxed, socializing and for once, it felt like 'normal'. As we gear up for the next half of the season, we are excited about upcoming events and creating a space that everyone can have a good time, share some laughs and simply doing what they love, playing golf and socializing.
