Golf Course Enhancement Update
Atkinson Irrigation, our irrigation contractor started work July 2nd and made excellent progress over the first three on property. The 8” mainline work from #9 was completed all the way into the fescue between #5 and #6. This week they will install 8” mainline down the left side of #18 and along the maintenance road to #15 tee.

6” mainlines will then branch off the 8” mainline around the rest of the front and back nines in the coming weeks. The 6” pipe is installed on the periphery of holes and so in most instances, we can keep all or part of the holes open while still ensuring the safety of the crew. We will continue to keep you appraised on the Project Information Board on Member Central. I’m expecting a terrific month of July with minimal course disruption to your golf.

The course enhancement project began last week. If you have read any of the communications, or visited Member Central on the website, you will have read that currently no holes have been closed. This will be the case, right through our Club Championship weekend. However, starting on July 14th, work will begin on hole #12 and #17. When this work begins, it will impact how our members post scores for handicapping purposes.

Starting with hole #12, it will be altered from a par 4, to a par 3. When this happens, the change is too impactful to allow players to post scores on the modified hole. We consulted with Golf Ontario to ensure that scores posted complied with the Rules of Handicapping. First and foremost, it is critical that members post hole-by-hole. This has been considered the best practice for the last few years. When posting your score for #12, you would simply input “0”. The handicap system will then create a differential based on the seventeen holes played.

We had a successful first week on the mainline install.  The Weather co-operated nicely and we reached our goal of getting mainline to #6 green and we are now ready to install the rest of the irrigation at 6 green once construction is complete.  There will be traffic management throughout the 8th tee over the next few weeks, please follow signage and ropes in these areas.

This week we will be running mainline from 18 fairway to 17 green and if time permits, all the way to 15 tee.  This will allow us to install the irrigation at 17 green as soon as its complete.  This will also allow us to have water at the back tees on 18 when construction commences at 17 green.  Tees will be moved into the fairway at the start of the week and move back as the contractors progress down the fairway.

The 4-Ball Match Play is underway with many teams scheduled to play in the coming weeks.
Special mention to 4 teams who have already completed 2/3 of their matches in their grid. This is not always easy to do early on, so SHOUTOUT to Lesley Brightling/Delia Dobson, Judy Adams/Hilarie Woods, Liz Quanbury/Susan Tremblay and Laura Neves/Charlene Wildridge. A few teams attempted to play their match a week ago Monday and everyone on the course was interrupted by a fast moving thunder cell that dumped lots of rain in a very short time. Some brave teams chose to wait it out and finish while others decided to have a drink and reschedule! The 7 grids are working hard to get their matches played by July 27th. Thank you! Please remember you are responsible for checking your scorecards and handicap allocations before you head out to the first tee.

Our Ladies Singles Match Play is rolling along with all participants playing their second round matches.

This is the last call for sign-ups for the Club Championship this weekend. With various tee and format options available, we've catered this event to all types of golfers. Don't miss out this weekend, which is also a Creemore Cup double points event. There is nothing quite like playing our spectacular course in championship conditions!

Thank You for a Wonderful July Start!
The beautiful July weather has brought a great energy to the Club — and it’s been fantastic to see so many members not only coming in after their round but also joining us for dinner. It’s clear the word is out! Thank you for your continued support and for making the Club such a lively place to be.

If you’re planning to dine with us, especially in groups larger than four or if you're not on the tee sheet, please make a reservation as it helps us prepare and ensures you have the best possible experience.

Notes from the Chef Stephen Sagar

I’ve added a new salad to the menu and the response has been very positive.  It is a simple salad but I have selected the ingredients of the salad very carefully.

Congratulations Brian French
